Tsuda-san was born in 1920 in the same prefecture as I did. I am not sure if she is still living, but I happened to come across her haiku and found many of them interesting.
I have been to some deserts. I was enchanted by the huge expanse of sand, and at the same time pristine blue sky with no trace of clouds, the sky so deep and devoid of any inpurities that it made me, surprisingly, sad.
