Haiga 277

Haiku and photo by Kuni Shimizu. The rice fields are flooded with golden color now, and ready for harvesting. The photo was taken last month, when the rice was still in growth.

Marvellos photo and haiku. It spreads an atmosphere of quietness and relief. I like its simplicity, too.

Oh, I love that. The line of her lips, the shape of the way. The green of the field, the red of her mouth. Great.

Best wishes
Ralf

Thank you all for nice comments.
The other day, I presented one painting by myself to my farmer friend. He, in turn, sent me a bag of the Uonuma Koshihikari Rice, which is the best rice produced in Japan. The rice, when cocked, shines and as you munch it gets sweeter.

I love these words, kuni san.
The old neighborhood had a festival and parade for 80 years.
I would walk the length of the avenue, meeting and greeting people, some I hadn't seen for decades. As time went by, new faces gathered in the crowds, and always, the little children in awe, mischievious teenagers, young men and woman showing off for one another, and the elderly who looked forward to this time for an entire year, looking wisely over the entire scene.

...and so often, kuni san, above it, a huge, bright harvest moon.

Thank you for causing me to remember these times.
