Senryu on toilet peper

My friend gave me this roll of toilt paper. Printed on it are senryu about toilet. TOTO, a toilet company in japan held a contest of toilet senryu, and the winners' senryu are printed on the roll. It costs about $4 a roll, and is sold at a bookstore. When you are in toilet, you read it and supposed to giggle on the senryu. I did read them but not really funny. It is just an expensive joke.

Giggling in a toilet still seems fine even for $4 a roll, Kuni-san...but is that about the extent they go to sell their poetry? By God, that's disgusting!

Save our poets, from demeaning themselves - printing poetry on toilet paper - can't imagine what drives one to do that, though most of life seems a good joke,

was keenly following, though off from commenting Kuni-san, but for my love of poetry, could help holding myself here,

and also, "most of life seems a good joke" - not to misunderstand Kuni-san, i was not talking about personal life/lives,

Welcome back, Devika san.
I know the roll meant a kind of joke, but still it lacks taste, i think.

Thank you Kuni-san,
of course i wasn't talking about the quality of the senryu there, Kuni-san...but the whole affair of printing/publishing in toilet paper seemed very demeaning of the poets - may be just me thinking so...

The common bog roll often has stuff printed on it - jokes mostly - although I have seen words of wisdom - even adverts - of course in the old days when folks wiped their bums on squares cut from old newspapers there was plenty to read, photos too ;)
