Sumi brush exhibition

Another event is been held with my involvement. An annual Japanese calligraphy exhibition. The participants had a little get-togather this evening so i went there and gave a congaturatory message.

Japanese calligraphy is practiced by many different sects with their own styles, and usually each sect hold its own exhibition. But here at this exhibition, all the differences coexist in a single exhibition, which is unusual and unique a practice in Japan.

Among the exhibited works, I found this piece (below photo). It is not brush calligraphy, but the author collected fallen Sakura leaves and assemble them in calligraphy manner. It says "One mind".
An interesting challenge.

Fresh with new
flowers and leaves,
500-year-old Sakura tree
