An exhibition on Yosa Buson is going on in my town. Buson's haiku books in which 212 newly found haiku are contained is the highlight of this exhibition. I plan to show a friend to this event this weekend so I checked it out today. A scroll haiga by Buson was a part of the show (see the photo). His haiku goes as follows:
炭売りに日はくれかかる師走かな
day ending, too, for
a charcoal peddler
