Haiku and artwork by myself.
This is one of my early haiku and haiga. I changed the background color a bit this time. Unami or april wave is a big one, the kind of surfing wave.
now and again
higher than the boat –
april waves
Suzuki Masajo wrote the haiku about unami, and that became the name of her Japanese style pub in Ginza, which is still open today at about the same place. I know the owner there, Masajo's grandson. Like me, he has fond memory of Hawaii. I gave a copy of this haiga to him.
