Haiku by myself (JP & Eng). The photo was taken by @mikamika59, who resides in Tokyo. She took it somewhere near her office. Having lived in Hawaii many years, and frequented the island of Palau, I just love clear sea and the underwater lives.

Words by myself. A stunning photo by Kent Miller. My addition is not a haiku nor senryu, just words inspired by the image.

Haiku by myself. Photo is by Gordon McBryd. The shape of the cloud caught my eyes when I found this photo. Then I came up with the haiku. So humid and hod here I long to be a place like this and play with wind and cloud.

Haiku by myself. I have seen long-exposed photos of stars before, but this one is different, which intrigued me. I cannot figure out what the burning thing in the lift bottom corner. Still, it is interesting, though. Anyway, this photo remained me of a painting by a great painter, van Gogh.

Haiku by myself. Photo is by Abby Elliott. I found this photo via Twitter. The photo has certain mood but seems not strong enough to be independent. Adding some words of haiku to it seems to help. Together, photo+haiku, it is now sound and strong, I think. Light from window, interior, frames remind me of painter Vermeer's small paintings, hence the haiku.
Haiku masters like Basho and Buson included in their haiku allusions of classic Japanese and Chinese literature. They had no knowledge of the western artistic tradition, which I know some, hence the haiku again.

Haiku by myself. Photo was taken by Dmitri Markine, before the wedding ceremony. What a photograph! I like it so much that I just have to add some words.

Haiku by myself. Photo is by Susan McConnell. Close-up photos often reveal quite different aspects of the subject matter. This is the palm of a seal. Simplicity of the form, interesting texture, splendid photograph indeed. To relate what's in the nature and human life is one important character of haiku, and I tried it with the help of the photograph.

Haiku by myself. What makes photography distinct from any other forms of art is that the camera must be THERE to capture the image. As an illustrator myself, I often make up images at my working place, and that suffice for me most of the time. But, being a photographer requires mobility, you cannot just sit still like me. To capture the photo like this, you even have to dive into the sea, and put up with some amount of danger....simply amazing.

Haiku by myself. I remember the time I was on the road for a month. That's back in my college days. Meeting people is one exciting thing about being on the road, but often times, you don't get to talk to anybody, and that's really lonely, so lonely that you wish you could talk to birds, dogs and the likes.
