Haiku by Rosalind Harris. Artwork by myself. In yesterday's blog post, I mentioned about fire festival. I am now switching the theme of haiga to fire and light. Just yesterday, I happened to receive a number of haiku from Rosalind. Among the haiku was this one about Pele, the fire goddess of Hawaii, and her sanctuary Mt. Kilauea. I made use of this timely submission.
In this haiga, I wanted to show the primitive quality that still exists in many parts of the Hawaiian Islands. I used crayon, sumi brush to make the basic drawing. Then added a little digital manipulation.
