Haiga 579 Ram Krishna Singh haiku

Haiku by Dr. Ram Krishna Singh of India. Artwork by myself.

Dimitar Anakiev of Slovenia emailed me the other day, asking me to do some haiga and cover illustration for the anthology he is putting together. The anthology will have many anti-war haiku from around the world. This haiga is made from one of them. All together, there will be more than 10 artworks so this will keep me busy for a while.

Keeping myself busy in creative work is really a good thing in a time like now, when I feel gloomy by constantly hearing worrisome news of the nuke, of people who had to evacuate from the dangerous zones, and of all the dogs, cats, and livestocks being left behind.

Other than Anakiev project, I am preparing 8 haiga for a literary journal published by a university in Kentucky.
I got a letter from Dr. Hirata yesterday. He publishes an anthology called "Haiku Friends" annually. He invites me again to submit 11 haiku for the new issue. This will keep me busy, too, and I am thankful for all these projects.

Once in a while a bombing is good to give our conscience a shake -- i too had thought in my younger days...Oh! but no, not in a garden....

and then as you say in the previous haiga -- with years of Indo-Pak war, US-Gulf war, Afghan, Osama's and US' fun with the gun and wars elsewhere -- we know this world won't be a better place with war and bombs,

then thought God and His love would help in making it better -- as it seems that's turning out big businesses (not all, but mostly so) as it seems none does anything; except our own ability to make it a little better in our spheres...and we hope life will be better for all -- hope dies the last,

Very effective haiga, Kuni-san...and good to know you are busy with creative projects -- the best place to be in this world,

a long note,

Devika san: Thank you for a good comment. Well said, indeed.
It seems to me that more people are writing haiku in India now.

Thank you Kuni-san...and yes, i was't aware of haiku myself, but today thanks to blogs and easy access to Japanese as wells as international haiku, the poetic form is more popular now,

All the best with this project.
Indeed, we need to be busy with something ...
I am working on the new Matsuo Basho archives to keep the gloom out of the hermitage.

Greetings from Okayama
